At last, new space!

A new studio layout! I've been wanting to change the layout of my studio space for awhile now and yesterday morning I finally said, eff it, I'm doing this shit now. It took the better half of the day, but was well worth the cleaning and shuffling around of furniture!

Here is my computer work station with my scanner. I also put my printer down on a lil table to the side since I don't use it that often (especially like now when it's out of ink and needs tons more). Beware the white walls! I definitely need to get me some art up on there.

To the right of my computer work station is my drawing table and two small side tables for brushes, canvases and paper, and various other tools. Now I'm situated where I can gaze out at the lovely park outside while working.

Also yesterday my order of the first batch of promotional mailers came in!

Some of these bad boys will be sent out this week before I go on vacation back home to Chicago. Then the rest when I get back in July. So many postcards...

I've invaded the cats' window gazing spot. We're going to begin negotiations of the space today...

Super Studio Space Work Time, Go!

I'll spare you panning to the other side of the room, which also serves as my bedroom, to avoid one of the effects of Super Work Time... a tornado of crap everywhere.

This is my last stretch before the end of the semester, meaning this weekend is work, work, work. I'll have a butt ton of stuff to share in the weeks to come, so I decided to just share my work space with you today.

My instructor for Character Design draws during class and does re-draws of our homework, then scans and shares them with the class. I chose my favs and posted them above my work desk during the latter half of the semester. It was super helpful to have inspiration and reference right where I looked, even at the cost of looking a touch psychotic. I think I need to go full blown mental and continue the taping-inspirational-shit to my walls trend.

My cat Scottish Play sure enjoyed all the papers to lay on.

D'awww... happy kitty.

Have a great weekend, everybody! Time for me to bust some drawing ass!

Sketches and Space

Hello out there, Internets. How's it been?

My summer semester has officially ended (well, actually a week ago now but productivity is just barely kicking back in) and I am fueled and energized to draw some mother-ouffin' comics! So just you wait!

In the meanwhile, some doodles and my new work studio--super under development.

Oh, and a Happy New Year!!!

2010

Kinda forgot to say Happy New Years and all that. So a good new year to all! I hope everyone out there has some optimism, however slight it may be, for this year ahead. Myself, I'm looking forward to moving out West (California, here I come!) and exploring a new city. Expect nostalgic Chicago drawings April-Mayish soon to be followed by road trip drawings and those of the San Fran area in this upcoming year.

Meanwhile, I finally have developed, organized, cleaned, and am satisfied with my studio area! Starting off the New Year right... and justifying the hours of playing Valkyria Chronicles I am about to do.
