So I finally started a blog.. no more excuses!!

Okay, so for the past... oh... two years? three? I've been talking and talking about making a website for my illustration and work, but i haven't done it yet. I WILL be designing and getting a website up and running before i graduate (this December 2008!) but in the meantime, I've decided that I need to stop coming up with excuses for not posting artwork online. So.... here it is! A blog!

I think once the semester ends next week I'm going
to start one of those "Daily Drawings" deals... just drawing something everyday and posting it for constructive criticism and to keep myself drawing. I've found that this entire semester I've only drawn what was required for class and haven't had the chance to just doodle or draw for myself. Since I can't seem to do it myself, having a blog will force me to!

So without further ado... here's some of what I've been working on for classes this semester...

Have I mentioned how much me and computers don't get along? It took me over twenty minutes to upload just two pictures... and I tried uploading a color jpg but every time I try uploading it, the colors get messed up. At a later time, when I'm not at work and on lunch hour, I'll figure out the basics of uploading images....

Frame06Part3:

I feel her forearm is a bit too long for it's own good. Based on what I can tell from the rest of the illustration and the proportions you've applied, it definitely feels off. Remember that the length from shoulder to elbow is nearly identical for shoulder-hands.

I also think the ends of the hair could use less definition. Unless that's what you're going for.

Political Cartoon:

It's interesting to see how the likeness of you is ever closer yet retains the "illustrative" or "comic-y" feel to it. Keep it up.

I don't know if you just didn't care, but I think you need to continue to work on the human digits more. There's a way to illustrate them comically, yet not look so disfigured.

Copernicus and SP goin' at each other was a nice touch.

I think you did a good job, sure there are some things you could improve on, but you will if you draw more. I have tried drawing just about every day, but there are always things that come up. Keep up the good work.
