Jungian Vision

I'm really into psychology. I am also really into theories of consciousness.

Henceforth, I bring you a drawing study of an illustration for my thesis which I'm working on with Carl Jung's Man and His Symbols in mind, particularly the Self and concept of the Cosmic Man.

"Indeed, we must never forget that for us outer reality exists only in so far as we perceive it consciously, and that we cannot prove that it exists 'in and of itself'."

I have more ideas for it, especially when it gets to color, but have a few more illustrations to finish before this one. When it's done, there'll definitely be a progress post to come!

Sabriel Interior

Another thesis illustration is complete! Apart from perhaps some minor changes and additions I may add later, here is my interior for Garth Nix's Sabriel.

Here is the process. First thumbnails, then sketch and value studies. The far right is where it was last week and then I spent some time boosting it up and re-working it this week.
